Tomatoes are one of my favourite foods so it was really fun to paint this one. Especially as I painted it at Bath Artists' Studios 2015 Open Studios while people wandered in and out if my studio, watching over my shoulder and asking me questions about the painting stages while I was doing it. I love the play of the reds and greens and the skeletal stalks and fronds are a good juxtaposition against the fleshy bodies of the toms.
